About Us
Nestled in a valley between the Shawangunk and Catskill mountains in Accord, New
York, QD Pride Farm is a family-owned horse farm for all equestrian levels. Whether
you’re an aspiring rider seeking high quality lessons, an experienced equestrian in need
of boarding and/or training facilities, or simply a rider who wants to “trailer in” their
horse for an occasional ride, QD Pride Farm can provide the services you seek. And we
operate year-round, as we have both outdoor and indoor facilities. The environment is
warm, nurturing and wonderfully peaceful.
About the owner
QD Pride Farm is owned and operated by Naomi Lopato.
Naomi’s been riding since she was 8 years old. She grew up riding Hunters and
Dressage but branched out into a variety of disciplines over the years.
She attended Morrisville State College in the thoroughbred program. While there she
received her exercise license galloping race horses and learned how to “break out” colts and fillies.
After Morrisville, she spent the next year working at a racetrack working alongside
numerous trainers, learning the inner workings of the racing industry. She then left that world to work at a breeding farm in Saratoga, NY, where she help managed a barn
containing mares and foals, assisted in the foaling out of over 150 mares, and
participated in the prepping of weanlings and yearlings for sale.
Although the time spent in Saratoga was wonderful, Naomi felt the pull of the Hudson
Valley and decided to return home where she worked at two dude ranches, as a
wrangler/medical assistant at one and a manager at the other, which gave her the
opportunity to connect with both horses and visitors.
